My name is Rob McHugh and I am a commercial and fine art photographer living in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in photography from the San Francisco Academy of Art and Masters of Ed. Degree from La Salle University. After 20 years working on the west coast (and 2 years in Italy nurturing my foreign language proficiency), I returned to Pennsylvania to touch up my fine art roots. In addition to freelancing, I teach courses in photography at a private day & boarding school in Bucks County. Like most photographers, I like making the type of photos that I enjoy viewing. I say “making” as opposed to “taking” because with the continual evolution of digital photographic tools including improved cameras, editing software, and printers, a greater breadth of creativity in image capture and post-processing is available, though not any easier to attain. What has been made easier to accomplish and a challenge to avoid is the smothering of an image in technique. I feel quite fortunate for, and appreciative of the foundation I received in analogue photography (both B&W and Color). However, digital technology’s positive influence on photography and less negative influence on the environment is impossible to deny, and for me, an ecological responsibility to embrace.
