Mario Lopez Leon (b.1997), who is Peruvian, Colombian and Swiss, was born in Rome and raised between Italy, Ecuador, Peru and Argentina. Mario grew up surrounded by different cultures, traditions, landscapes and ways of seeing the world. From a very young age his love for photography arose and he used his first life savings to buy a first camera. This Kodak basic camera allowed Mario to explore architecture and landscape photography, subjects that he naturally attract him. Due to architectural photography, Mario started to observe and analize buildings and cities in a new way, with a higher appreciation for its styles, colors, textures, shapes, scales, history, technology and its potential to play with human's feelings. That's why he ended up enrolling in architecture school in Lima, Peru, where he actually lives and studies. The artwork is the result of a self-taught evolution path. The main motivation is to examine the relationship between the artificial architecture and nature, through contrasts, by framing architecture with the living world, and also by showing how light and shadow modifies urban environments.
