About The Artwork

This work is dedicated to bisexuality of one of the most famous Ukrainian writers, political and feminist activist Lesya Ukrainka (1871 – 1913). The work depict the portrait of Lesya Ukrainka, taken from the 200 uah banknote, the two-color symbol of bisexuality, and the phrase from Lesya's intimate letter. Through the intimate correspondence of Lesya and Olha Kobylianska we can touch secret sincere love story of these two great writers, whose relationships were full of poetic and symbolic gestures. Limited edition of these screen prints has been created for an art exhibition within the Book Fair at Mystecky Arsenal, grand event at the art and literature in Kyiv, Ukraine. Half of the edition has been sold to private collectors and such organizations as Lviv Book Forum and UNESCO Ukraine.
