"Family portrait"- Printmaking, linocut and monotype. Graphic of "Family portrait" is inspired by prehistoric cave drawings. The rock drawings depict mainly herbivorous animals (deer, bulls, bison and horses). Animals that people hunted before they decided to settle down and invent writing. For decades, they were interpreted as an attempt to immortalize scenes from everyday life on the walls of caves. The species of "rational man" is included in the order of primates ... and the family of great apes, which also include gorillas, chimpanzees, bonobos and orangutans. The degree of relatedness is measured by the number of shared genes. Humans and chimpanzees have the highest degree of kinship: our DNA and chimpanzee DNA are 98% the same. This proves that relatively recently (on the scale of the age of the Earth) we and chimpanzees shared a common ancestor. The similarities between our species are proof of such close kinship.
