About The Artwork

Even for me, this (one of a) pair of images is hard to reconcile, philosophically. First of all, they are each the product of turning an image inside-out. If that image is to represent one of the two ways of organizing a polygonal universe, what was originally its circumference (with nothing outside of it) is now an inner circumference containing something. How can that be? Something that is encompassing everything, now has something more inside it when turned inside out. Granted, the patterns inside the inner circles of these annuli are only construction lines etched into nothing, but their Parent group from my “SMITHON MORPHOLOGY” designs already represent what is outside (suspending) the three dimensional universe. Perhaps they are the key to that elastic element required for the rebounding of a multiple universe.
