About The Artwork

The Momordica print is best decorated in a frame, passe-partout and glass. The size of the print is 38x15 cm, the size of the paper is 52x38 cm. The print is created in the technique of modular etching, ie from one zinc base I made two prints on one paper. Tough watercolor paper with a light texture. I first saw this amazing plant Momordica in a seed store and decided to grow it in Kyiv. This is a very interesting fruit that looks like a little dragon. Momordica tastes like a pumpkin, because it is from the pumpkin family. Observing the slow growth of plants is very inspiring. Especially when you grow plants yourself. I decided to make an etching that can be printed as a repeating ornament: the composition is created so that I can print from any side and all the details will be continued. Since the work is 52x38 cm, I send it in a tube.

I work with graphic techniques that help show the rhythmicity and repetition of modern architecture. The etching also reveals the theme of botany, the cyclical nature of the world. I transform things into new codes or symbols that become the new modern alphabet. I also experiment with printed techniques and zero-waste art. Life during the war On February 24, my husband and I decided to stay in Kyiv, at home, to help our relatives and neighbors. Only about two weeks after the start of the war I was able to think about art and work. During this time, my relatives from Kyiv went abroad, and my niece and her friend were safely evacuated from Bucha via the Irpin Bridge. I decided to sell my artworks and send 70% to the Armed Forces, volunteers and official foundations. Thank you everyone, who help! Glory to heroes!
