About The Artwork

I am fascinated and inspired by Chinese "Shan Shui" (translated as "Mountain and Water") landscapes. I wanted to capture these basics in a minimalistic yet powerful etching. I invite the spectator to feel the peace and calmness in the work and return to your inner self. I believe that looking at this small work is a form of meditation. I love working with a printing press because it can cause little imperfections and you never know how the ink will turn out on the paper. I also paint on my sheet so it becomes a combination of printing and painting. For me a mountain is a symbol for an obstacle that can be overcome by climbing up the mountain for spiritual or mental rising. The work has a white margin around the image. Size: 20,5 x 29,5 cm Material: Graphic ink on Hahnemuhle etching paper Color: Black and white Important: This work is a work on paper. The work can be framed at an additional cost. Please contact me if you want to know more. The edition is an edition of 5. This is 1/5.

"I intend to make the intuitive and spiritual world - that are naturally present for me - visible to the spectator. Labour-intensive ceramics as well as graphic art bring me in a meditative state, leading to an oriental aesthetic that has been influenced by traditional oriental art and philosophy. Oriental traditional art and philosophy as well as water are an inspiration and fascination that I try to catch in my work. I want the viewer to experience the calmness and contemplation that I put into my work and enjoy peaceful moments of rest."
