About The Artwork
Taras Shevchenko needs no introduction. Brilliant poet, artist, thinker, great son of the Ukrainian people. Such an assessment of the genius was given by time, the minds made up, and we can only say that we have not fully realized the weight of the beacon not only of Ukraine but of all mankind. Shevchenko teaches, convinces, calls. Provides answers to many questions of our time. The only trouble is that we are not always grateful and we turn to him less and less. Maybe this is the great tragedy of the Ukrainians. My painting is a modern interpretation of the classic image of Shevchenko. On it, the Ukrainian prophet gazes intently at us - descendants. In his eyes, there is hope for a bright future for Ukraine. The artwork was created using the author's technique of color linocut, from forms that I cut out by myself. The drawings from which the shapes were cut are the fruit of my imagination and inspiration, as well as more than 25 years of artistic experience. All my artworks are created by hand and exist in a single copy! The artwork is printed on quality paper, signed at the bottom of the print, as well as on the back. The artwork is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The size of the artwork is 23.6x31.9" (60x81 cm). This artwork is without decoration. It requires registration in a frame, mat, and glass. As far back as I can remember, I have been drawing. An artist, a painting teacher, a participant in international exhibitions, master classes, and festivals - all this is about me. I work with different techniques - graphics, watercolors, landscapes, mosaics, but color linocut became my special passion. Fortunately, my greatest admirer and ideological inspirer is my husband, Pavlo Nikolaychuk. Thanks to him, many absolutely magical paintings were born in my workshop. One of the great authors said: "Art is completely useless, but without this uselessness, it is absolutely impossible to live!" I think people are born with creativity, and if you have it, it is impossible not to create. Because this is the same process as breathing. Correctly say you can not do - do not. I was the curator of the international project "1st International mini-print in Kiev" in 2010, Central House of Artists, Kyiv, Ukraine, Tarnobrzeski and "Na Pietrze" Galleries, Keltsi, Poland.
