ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This is a composition inspired by the ancient manuscript of the 10th c. titled the Book of Fixed Stars which mapped the constellations. It is handprinted in an acanthus leaf design over pages from a vintage world atlas and the figures are drawn over this collage and then hand painted with acrylic paint and gouache. The stars are depicted in keeping with the original manuscript page. I feel strongly that the power of myth is with us as an architype for our life today. I am hoping that the viewer will be delighted with the dancing forms and the patterns through it all.
