About The Artwork

This is a work from the series "Ports of Chernomoria", the beginning of the 20th century. It is interesting to study and paint Bulgaria, coping retro photos, introducing my own vision and color into the past. Nessebar is a small town in Eastern Bulgaria one of the oldest towns in Europe. It is situated on a small peninsula of the Black Sea. The town was founded by the Thracians in 3000 BC. During the Middle Ages it was one of the towns with a lot of architectural monuments. Today the town still has the romantic spirit of the old Mesemvria. The churches and monuments in Nessebar are examples of the architectural and artistic influence of the Greek, Roman and Byzantine.
