A sculpture that I have fond memories of. I have had two burn-outs in my life. I made this sculpture to make fun of myself. When you manage to have some distance on your difficulties it's a good sign. Beyond the humorous title, Alien dépressif rouge means red depressive alien, there is no real sadness in this sculpture, but pleasure, the pleasure of creating, the pleasure of living.

I am a French plastic artist. I have been painting and sculpting since my early childhood. I studied liberal arts at Valenciennes. I started to take up the theme of tenderness between males when I was a teenager. I was in need of positive representations of homosexuality. It was difficult to obtain such images of homosexuality during that period, especially from a middle class family in the North of France. Homosexuality was still very much taboo. It is less so today. However, I love evoking on the only thing that truly matters: the love, the serenity, the togetherness, the confidence, the alterity, the pleasure of being together, and the full-blown pleasure of love.
