Art Description

Sculpture: Steel on Steel.

Beak-to-Beak is a steel sculpture that speaks to nurturing or transferring information. I see it as a big bird feeding another bird - as in a teacher/pupil relationship, one company supplying data to another, or in a health industry role.

It is made from heavy structural steel. I hope to be making more from this heavy material in the future.

This piece is made so it can be picked up with a fork lift and is heavy enough that it should stay put once it is set down. It is designed to be legal height on a flat bed truck. It has bolt holes if you want it in a permanent spot and want to anchor it. I don't deliver, but I will load it onto your truck with my forklift.

It is 10' tall and about 8' wide and finished with exterior industrial machinery paint. The price is with me building a crate to ship it in. If you want to have your trucker put a rain tarp over the sculpture you can deduct $2000 from the listed price.

If this sculpture interests you there is much more on this site. Go to the upper right top and enter "Arfsten sculpture" in the search box to see many styles and themes of my work.

There are many more pieces of sculpture that I have not had time to put here on Saatchi yet. If you google “Richard Arfsten sculptor” and hit “Images” on the opening page you will see a collection that I plan to put on Sattchi as time permits. There is also many movies of many of these pieces on “You Tube Richard Arfsten sculpture” with the sculpture in a multitude of settings and verbal discussions.
