'Fat Man - The Great Artist' is an enlarged replica (2:1) of the atomic bomb 'Fat Man' that was released over Nagasaki on August 9, 1945, because Japan had not reacted to the bombing of Hiroshima with the nuclear bomb called ' little boy' three days earlier. The extraordinary dimensions of 'fat man - the great artist' almost seem to burst the white cube; thus the expansive power of the bomb is evoked. Almost eight decades onwards from the attack that caused such serious consequences, there are new dangers today that might trigger an escalation - if one follows the tensed politics between the US and North Korea, as well as with Iran. The sculpture 'Fat Man - The Great Artist' points to a political expansion in the sense of a violent 'take over' of power and a conscious avoidance of collective responsibility that might ensue from it. The sculpture can be seen as a monument and a warning sign.
