About The Artwork
I carved "Oranges and Cream " as an homage to my favorite summer flavor combination. I wanted it to be mouthwatering and juicy . The Orange is carved from a beautiful piece of Honey Calcite with the crystal orientation lined up to give the impression of the structure of an orange slice. because of it he stones translucent nature if you light it it will shine with a brilliant glow. The Cream is carved from Yule Marble , so named because anything carved from this stone looks like it has been made of snow, it reflects light like snow does with little sparkles of the crystals that make up its structure. together they make a beautiful and unique piece of art .

Kathryn Vinson is a native Colorado sculptor living in Loveland, Colorado. Her work of the past 19 years is primarily delicate botanical sculptures made from stone, wood and copper. Each piece is carved and shaped producing one of a kind creations. She has permanent installation at the Idaho Botanical Gardens, won best in sculpture at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum annual exhibit, Women Artist of the West award winner, is a Signature member of American Women Artists, has exhibited twice at the National Sculpture Society show at Brookgreen Gardens NC, and the 2020 Colorado Governor's show and sale. She is currently represented by Wild Horse Gallery, Steamboat Springs CO.
