About The Artwork

Original Orca Whale vertebrae bone highlighted in white. Intention: contribute through art to the conservation of the marine ecosystem & the environment of the coastal communities. Proceeds from these sculptures will go to OCC URUGUAY, The Cetacean Conservation Organization / @occuruguay. A series of causally related events led me to an unexpected visit to Cabo Polonio. An iconic lighthouse (built-in 1881) is the landmark of this magical oceanic site, where I had the pleasure of meeting its keeper; just weeks before his retirement, unknowing that he would become the starting-point of a new creative adventure. Nature and its fascinating golden ratio are the sources of my artistic inspiration. Expressing profound respect and gratitude, I got a few vertebrae from long ago run aground, Southern Right, and Orca whales. Seeking to honor and protect the majestic splendor of these oceanic mammals,  I designed a project that would blend art with environmental awareness.  Each piece is unique and was crafted with consciousness, passion, and love.

Sculpting is a form of meditation for me. My passion for art and sculpture in particular, was enhanced when I chose a new paradigm of life focused on spiritual growth. That’s why I feel that making sculpture is a way of meditating and a means to expand consciousness. Influences: Juan Arp, Henry Moore, Leo Tavella. Inspiration: the science, art and philosophy of form, MORPHOLOGY. A convergent discipline; which through visualizations exposes, describes, explains and predicts composition, structure, relationships, patterns, syntax, sequences, connections, codes, evolution and transformations of astronomical, biological, climatic, anthropological, physical, chemical phenomena ... I lose track of time. I feel free and motivated. Without a preconceived shape, I play the art of creating abstract, organic, hand made sculptures while cultivating patience and persistence.
