About The Artwork

The actual "crisis" by people on flight from terror and war and the european fear of overpowering by foreign culture gave the inspiration to this sculpture. I chose the humanitary aspect thinking of the paintings of the holy family on their flight to egypt. It became a sort of guardian angel sheltering a group of people. The sculpture is carved from elder-wood and treated with bee-wax.
