The lover, As a thoughtful response to Damien Hirst`s "for the love of god" and his brilliant inspiring sayings about it such as "As an artist we ought to make work with what around you, and you know... money was around me". So he proceeded on manufacturing an diamond encrusted skull. When i saw and heard that, I found myself upset with the miracle that so much money and so little ability could produce. So I made this piece using an reverse philosophy on Damien`s art. Contrary from Damien, money is not around me, so all materials for this piece were found. The skull, was reversed, instead of human skull ,bull skull. instead of manufacturing, i made it. Instead of encrusting or carving, I painted it. Instead of addressing God, I addressed mundane love, lust and desire. Instead of shiny and gray-scalled, opaque and colorful. *"The Lover" Is also, the precursor piece of the series "series of marbling masterpieces" more info at the website: www.lucasnovaesart.com
