About The Artwork

At first glance, the two figures appear identical. Upon closer examination subtle differences emerge, the turn of the head, a twist of a wrist. There is a vibrant interaction between the two figures as they each balance on a single point supporting their form in motion. Lisbeth Sabol's exquisite sculptures are cast using the lost wax method of bronze-casting to capture the intricate detail of each piece. Hand-applied patinas add subtle color variation. The Mountain and the Sea is cast in bronze and available in an artist limited edition. Each limited edition bronze is signed and numbered by the artist. Lisbeth Sabol is known for her evocative, graceful sculptures in bronze and stone. Lisbeth has shown in galleries in New York City, London, Honolulu, New Zealand, and Italy. Her sculptures can be seen in the public collections of Rocky Mountain National Park, Glacier National Park, Quiet Waters Park, and in many private collections throughout the U.S. and abroad. Her work has won awards in regional, national, and international exhibitions. Please be advised that limited edition bronzes are usually available immediately. In certain circumstances, the bronze may have to be cast to order, a process that can take up to 8 weeks. Please feel free to make your purchase or consult first with a Saatchi representative.

While official Sculptor-in-Residence at Mt Rushmore National Memorial in 2000 and 2001, Lisbeth sculpted several original sculptures while onsite demonstrating her stone-carving techniques to Park visitors. In 2003, Lisbeth spent a month carving a two ton block of stone at The Tareitanga International Sculpture Symposium in Wellington, New Zealand, a prestigious invitational event that features sculptors from all over the world.
