'You very only waiting for this moment to arise' (Beatles). But do we know what the meaning of this song was, about a singing blackbird?, or about black life matters?, or was it as actually about black girls? We may not fully know, and to add ambiguity, is it 'black bird' (crow or covidia) or a 'blackbird'. And has it to do with a social bird or and individual bird? I did this drawing in Ørstedsparken Thursday 11 June 2020. We are still moving from phase 1 toward phase 2 of the global Covid19 pandemic. It was a warm evening, and then it started to rain, and with droplets falling on the lake surface, vegetation, earth and my drawing paper, I decided to mix this into this fairly simple painting. We talked about the opening up, but only a few people did go to Ørstedpark this evening. Anyway, Covid19 is still here and that might have impacted the expressive way this drawing developed, where I finally added the black bird, which don't look like a blackbird, but more looks like a black bird (a covidia or crow) searching for food at the vicinity of the lake. And actually after nearly three months with lockdown I felt free as the rain started to fall more heavily and I went home and finished the drawing later that night, never realising what it was about, although it is about black life's matters and it is from Ørstedpark in Copenhagen, Denmark. 'Blackbird singing in the dead of night Take these sunken eyes and learn to see All your life You were only waiting for this moment to be free"

I am a Danish hydrologist currently working as a principal investigator and researcher at the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland at Øster Voldgade 10, 1350 in Copenhagen (working in close cooperation with Copenhagen University institute for geology and geography).
