About Annabel Andrews
Annabel Andrews was born in the Isle of Wight in 1940 now lives and works in El Escorial near Madrid Spain, where the colour, light and volumes of the mountains inspire her work. As also her friendship with the late Spanish artists Pablo Palazuelo and Jose Guerrero.
While still very young she obtained honours certificate from the Royal Drawing Society in England, and continued to study in private and municipal workshops in Gran Canaria, and on moving to Madrid, in the Fine Arts Circle. Also learning etching and litograph techniques, and still takes part in a live model drawing group.
By preparing her own canvases with home made casin glue base and zinc white the work is light and luminous ready for applying acrylic colours.
She has exhibited in important galeries in Madrid, and in many cultural centers, and has receive various awards.
Her works are in private collections in Europe and America.
