Flora Automata

An ongoing series of semi-automatic drawings dedicated to the theme of plants. Begun with as mindless pen stroke as possible, the beginning is often then left for several days or weeks. A germ of something to come, completed after some consideration of the initial mark. Much like their truelife counterparts, some grow quickly from flowing lines or heavily contoured marks. Others, slower, from small fine marks applied over long periods of meditative quiet. Occasionally surreal, often improbable, yet rarely less believable than many such things that grew, or continue to grow in the world.
