Fractal Memory

Having watched China change before my eyes for nearly two decades, I needed to comment on the growth of the new order. Cities are systematically levelled and rebuilt, as some of the world's most expensive real estate is recycled. China embraces this facelift, yet still holds on to its tradition fiercely. This collection uses the steel, glass and concrete of the new China to create a juxtaposition against the hutong of last century. These works were first shown in the A3 Gallery, Beijing between 2007-8 prior to the Olympics.
