Spiritual Surrealism

Like the series Figurative, this is a collection of works created during the earliest days of Monaghan's time in New York City. These works come from a realistic, representational, figurative space and move into a spiritual surreal realm. These works were created at the end of Monaghan's time working with mentor artist Gregory Ilich, a graduate of RISD in the United States. This series moves much more directly into the surrealistic realm.
