Chaos Theory
In this series, I unfold the most myopic expression of my experience in Time— that which is layered with dynamic impulse and emotion and has yet to reveal any sense of understanding. Maybe I catch glimpses of familiarity or a potential start of a pattern, but the motivation for this process is to yield myself to solely connecting with the current moment and work against the tendency to simultaneously judge, attempt to analyze, or insert control over the marks and colors...which is very hard for me. Each work is a window to safely explore new rhythms of painting through play; the game is to layer as many marks until I arrive in a space where a few leading main shapes/marks have surfaced to the top.
