On Linen
The color of raw linen is in the middle of the spectrum between black and white. Black is the basic reference point of each work, the appeal to the unconscious. White on linen is a standalone color that challenges black at the other extreme. The clay colours on top offer the beginnings of nuances, while keeping an austerity. A gentle sensory harmony presents itself as the beginning of an individualization, an awareness to be developed.
Out of a desire for personal anchoring and connection with something larger, the simple traces left on this medium are fragments of landmarks, simple vessels of meaning – our symbols of representation.
