ALTERED IMAGES by Tom Miller

I am fascinated by images created by artists from the past. The paintings in this collection have been altered in some way as I create my own version of the art works I admire. Sometimes the image is flipped, painted in a different style, or a new background is added. Most radically the image may be fractured to created a sense of shifting time and space. The fracturing is also a reference to cubism and the technique of photo collage.
