behind the visable
This series of paintings, are made with acrylics on canvas while others are acrylic on paper..They all use the circle in some form - circles overlaid , circles in groups single circles. I explore the geometry, proportion and meaning of the circle in its broadest sense. using the widest range of the colour blue ,from ultramarine to cobolt to the deepest prussian blue and all the variations in between, the plasticity of paint allows for texture and fluidity and the grains of raw pigments hold and reflect light from the surface of the paintings
