W. Priebst - Europe-Greece/Crete

BACK IN EUROPE: Munich and Crete - When Walter Horst Priebst settled in Munich with his third wife (Traute Annies-Priebst) after his return from Mexico, he was drawn to the sunny south. Together they set up a second permanent residence on the Greek island of Crete in 1991. A number of works inspired by the new environment were created here. Priebst loved the sun and the wild landscape, which in character came close to the Mexican. Greek culture was also a major factor. In his object work in Mexico, Priebst already dealt with motifs from Greek and Cretan-Minoan mythology.
