The 19th Century was considered the Golden Age of Pastoral Art. Within that rubric was Pastoral, Picturesque and Sublime. Oddly enough, the Sublime celebrated the wildness of nature and the Pastoral celebrated man's dominance over nature. The images in this collection celebrate beauty and its natural variations.
