100 Birds at Twilight Collage

This painted paper collage is part of my Waterfields collection inspired by visits to wetlands in Somerset. I go to observe wildlife and wild flowers in an area where the land meets the water. I want to capture the view of a creature in the bullrushes at the end of the day as the light is fading and all the waterbirds are coming in to roost. I want to illustrate the small animals, birds and insect we may not be able to see but who nevertheless inhabit these precious marshy spaces.
