Martina Nikova is an artist from Sofia, Bulgaria. She has earned her MFA in Painting from the Indiana University in 2010 and her BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design in 2007. Since graduating, she has actively exhibited her works nationally and internationally. She has been the recipient of several esteemed awards, including the Elizabeth Greenshields Grant (2007 and 2010) which is given to representational artists during their formative years. In her paintings, Martina combines anything from oil and acrylic paint to enamel and spray paint, however, the essential construction of her works is deeply rooted in traditional drawing. She has taught Foundation and Advanced Drawing courses at the college level and also had the opportunity to teach Painting, AP Art, and Photography during summer programs in Florence, Italy and Surrey, England.
