About The Artwork
This collage is the third in the collection, this time the focus is on the breath, reminding us to breathe as we relax in our surroundings, the blossoming trees symbolising new life, regeneration and power, the unstoppable progress of nature. Using my unique process of 'painting with paper', over 600 pieces torn or cut from magazines make up the image, gradually built up from layers of colour and texture. Celebrating pinks, purples and oranges with a contrasting vivid sky blue, the source image was a photograph I took of blossoming trees in spring. This piece took over 70 hours to complete, and takes inspiration from advertising and graphic design along with other text-art. The artwork comes unframed, the total size of the paper that the piece is mounted on is 43cm W x 37cm H (17in x 14.5in). The collage itself measures 39cm x 37cm (15in x 14.5in). It can either be framed highlighting or hiding the rough edges, depending on your preference. The artwork is signed by the artist.
