Co-Occurring Disorders Collage: found papers, oil paint, acrylic paint, colored pencil, glitter glue, marker. 21x21 inches 2016©RafaelSantiago This series, titled Detritus Bellus, is an effort to merge higher, fancied materials, such as deconstructed high fashion clothing, with materials found on the streets (corroded papers and cardboard box scraps, etc.). It is an exploration of tensions between surface textures and perspectives. I am combining to create a new whole. Influences include Rauschenberg, Shwitters, Twombly, Sterling Ruby, and John Stezaker.
