Inspired by mental health and illness to help continue the conversation.

This mixed media piece was inspired by the feeling of showing people who you really are without wearing any masks. Stripped down to the bare bones, completely like a skull, nothing to hide behind.

The 3D plastic toys in the artwork are 120+ various animals which represents the complexity of humans. We're made up of many things and continue to grow as we do. The textured background represents having substance when it comes to being human. Becoming more self aware as we grow, learning to love yourself and going through the good and bad that make you into who you are today.

Title was inspired by the song "Come as you are" by Nirvana, actually listened to the song while creating this piece.

Includes attached wire on the back of the canvas for hanging.

Pandora Owl was born and raised outside of Toronto, Ontario. Started her journey, building a career in advertising until she decided to make a leap into following her art passion. Her art focuses on mental health & illness in order to help comfort those who suffer from it as well as exposing it to those who don’t. She leverages mixed media in order to tell her stories, often referencing her youth by incorporating items such as comics and or toys; a style she developed in her art class back in high school. Her textured mixed media art has many layers that can be seen and felt but most importantly ignite and continue the conversation of mental health as it’s increasingly making its way to the forefront.
