"Goodbye America!" part #1 Collage

Goodbye America! The work is a textile collage, consisting of two parts, which can form a diptych but can exist independently. I describe one work, but it completely describes both of them. The diptych is made from recycled jeans, assembled on cotton canvas using hand assembly, embroidery, machine stitching and a minimum of textile glue. Also, there are used tapes and labels from different companies. The back pockets of the jeans are the interactive centre of the composition. It was in vain that I put wallets in them at exhibitions. According to my creative idea, any items can be in these pockets. The viewers understood this without prompting and began to put small money, flowers and notes there. At my request, the curators of museums and galleries did not prevent viewers from using these interactive elements for their intended purpose. After the exhibitions, there was always a lot of stuff in them. Thus, a collector who has bought both or one of the parts of Goodbye America will be able to think about what he could hide in such a secret vault. I offer him original creative cooperation.)) The work is fixed on a beech stretcher, the edges and ends are part of the composition, so the frame is not needed and does not need additional decor. There is no mount for a suspension, the size of the work is 70x70 cm (27.5 x 27.5 inches). The creative concept of the diptych owes its origin to the song "Goodbye, America!" of the Soviet rock group "Nautilus Pompilius", which in the 90s was almost the main musical theme. This song is also a soundtrack for some films, including Aleksei Balabanov's "Brother-2": I have already grown from Your frayed jeans. We've been taught for so long To love your forbidden fruits.
