About The Artwork

In the painting "Gorynych” we see the Russian folklore hero Snake Gorynych, who in Slavic fairy tales is the embodiment of evil and horror. The fantastic Gorynych snake has many heads that destroy everything in its path with the help of fire. We often read in the Russian news that America and the American special services are to blame for all the troubles of our country. Russia, since Soviet times, has always been competing with the United States and trying to get ahead of it in every possible way. Space race. The arms race. But our country is still three times less efficient in terms of labor productivity. Then why this race? Fantastically tenacious is this mythologeme that America is to blame for everything and behind everything. In the eyes of Russians, this country seems to be something terrible, destroying everything in its path, like the mythological Serpent Gorynych, whose heads are the heads of former American President Donald Trump. Moreover, not many residents of our country can afford to travel to another country due to their low financial situation. Well-known Russian politicians actively hide behind this myth and thereby compensate for the means of their own economic dystrophy and political insufficiency. Or maybe there is no Gorynych?
