About The Artwork
"Moscow Diary", written by Walter Benjamin between December of 1926 and February of 1927, includes some of his impressions about the city and his relationship with Asja Lacis; a relationship fraught with doubts, disagreements, uncertainties and opposing opinions. Whenever anything went wrong between us, she always ended up asking herself whether she had not in fact been the offender. Unfortunately, despite these words we later quarreled, I no longer remember why. Walter Benjamin Eventually, memories become blurred and the facts we thought that would never forget are blended with others. In "Knowledge As Interpretation", a part of "Moscow Diary" has been destroyed and reconstructed again around a map of Moscow, placing the fragments randomly and getting something similar to a normal page that actually is just a heap of fragments that make up new words, some of them meaningless.
