Loss Collage

I've lost some very important people in my life after my graduation. I've kept my grief at bay for the last 5 years by focusing on my daughters. Creating Loss enables me to shed some of my grief. I will forever miss my big brothers (my kuyas), and grandma. I will forever be grateful for them loving me. For anyone who's recently lost anyone, I hope that this paper painting brings you some comfort. I chose to use handmade papers for their texture and fibrous qualities. Made in the style of chigiri-e with handmade Japanese papers and mounted on cardstock. Each paper is cut with small tip scissors or x-acto knife. No colouring was done.
