Artist Recognition
Artist featured in a collection
A bas relief using wood and fabric to create a colorful city grid that suggests the bright colors and low buildings of Miami or Hialeah. The color is a combination of paint and fabric from men's shirts bought in the thrift stores of Miami. The work is on a solid cradled panel made by the artist and floats in a simple modern strip frame with no glass. Ready to hang.

Born in New Jersey in 1950, Will studied at The Art Student’s League of NYC and Cornell University. He has been making geometric abstraction in paint, pastel, wax, collage, assemblage, and fabric since 1974. His work combines rigorous modernist structures with post-modern devices such as appropriation, chance, and seriality. Recent work employs patterned fabrics in the larger pieces and bits of art magazine text, paint chips and reproductions in the collages. Will's recent art is a return to pure formalism, with color relationships predominant.
