My Bass, My Lady Collage

Inspired by the great jazz bassist, Walter Payton, who once referred to his instrument as his 'lady." The work features torn magazine paper which forms the head of the musician and the bass inlay. The latter features elements that depict femininity. Glue media mixed with acrylic color creates a layered background with bright red/orange hues. The musicians's suit is done in the same way with the addition of paper in some areas to add interest.
