About The Artwork

Paper and Ink Collage of the Poet Paul Verlaine. Being a friend of A. Rimbaud who was accused of getting into an argument with Rimbaud and shooting him in the hand. This painting is focused on that incident as pages are cut and torn in the background about the incident. He was known to drink Absinthe quite heavily and is partly to blame for the accident. Paper is glued to 1/4" black foam board coated with clear gesso before ink is applied.

I'm an old self taught artist coming from a family with my father being a draftsman and abstract artist while growing up. Being retired now I'm concentrating on painting and exploring my creative style of artwork. If you like my artwork feel free to contact me. I also do photography, having a darkroom and like experimenting in older forms of photography like Bromoil. But mostly concentrating on painting artwork as of late.
