About The Artwork

Drawing on the ideas, principles, and collage techniques of Dada. Repetition enters into many aspects of the artist's work, mirroring life in American society, and reflecting a physiological element, contemplating a specific American existence often linked to existential longings, who and why we are, the desire and longing for something we can not define. This work is a gesture and/or representation where no distinction between the important and the commonplace are clear, the banal and the significant, where open-ended ambiguities prevail. Approaches associated with surrealist methods of disassociation experimental and unexpected juxtapositions are also evident. Each photograph of 6, 11x14" b&w photographs each, and also utilize the darkroom photogram technique. Edition of 3. All images shot by the artist on locations, including Philadelphia Airport. Keywords: surrealism, dada, photogram, cinema, collage, figurative, representational, narrative.

The artist born and raised in upstate NY. He lives and works in Albany NY.
