ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This mixed media collage on paper is 21" x 20". It is sold matted to 29" x 27". When you frame it, it will be even bigger than that depending on what size frame you use. It is collaged with actual sheet music and an actual sunflower seed package. The stars are referencing a popular New England quilt pattern. They are done with a linoleum block print. The painting has some texture in it. I'm inspired by the magic of nature. My paintings incorporate archetypes of nature and spirituality to explore life's universal rhythms. They reveal the fleeting past while reminding us to fully experience the always transient present moment. Uncovering memory, the passage of time and our reflections on the cycle of life, the paintings depict an idyllic mystical world. They juxtapose what can be known with what can never be known.
