ABOUT THE ARTWORK

For this painting I created a surface not only using sand, but also paper. So this 'collage mixed media painting' is wrinkled and twisted in the bottom part, while it's either sandy or super-smooth in the upper one. The painting's metallic effects are enhanced by the glossy varnish. I love to feel my eyes wandering over it and finding some gracefulness, in the midst of its intense aspects. And the light plays a mad dance over it depending on the time of the day. Mixed media work created with sand, paper, acrylic colors, metallic pigments and glossy varnish. Being richly textured, it gives the viewer both a visual and a tactile experience. Also, the metallic pigments and the varnish allow the painting to shine depending on the natural lights. Size: 45x30x0.1 inches - 114.3x76.2x0.3cm on aluminum Dibond board. It's signed on the back and ready to hang. This painting is offered with a white wood American type floating frame.

I'm a self-taught Italian painter, based in Treviso, near Venice. Art invariably gifts me with time. Time to feel connected to land, sky, water and to my own skin, story and meaning. I hope these works might offer you time, emotions, memories and connectedness. In my research, I explore the dynamic dance between nature’s elements and the resilience inherent in the human spirit. My work draws inspiration from the flowing forms of clouds, the undulating waves of the ocean, and the ever-changing textures of the landscape. These natural elements serve as metaphors for the challenges and transformations we experience in our personal lives and social environments. Using layered textures and organic forms, I aim to capture moments of transition—those fleeting instances where calm meets chaos, where strength emerges in the face of upheaval. My aesthetic approach emphasizes the fluidity of movement, blending soft, ethereal tones with more intense, vibrant passages that evoke the powerful forces at play in nature. These contrasts reflect the balance we all seek: the need to adapt like a bending tree in the wind, and the courage to face life’s challenges with the strength of a crashing wave. Through my work, I invite viewers to find themselves in the ebb and flow of these abstract landscapes. Each piece is a reminder that, just like the clouds shifting across the sky or the waves reshaping the shore, we too are constantly adapting, evolving, and finding new ways to thrive. It is an exploration of how resilience is not a rigid stance, but a fluid process—a journey that requires both the gentleness to bend with change and the energy to face it head-on. In today’s world, where the pace of life often feels as unpredictable as the weather, my art speaks to the universal experiences of growth, adaptation, and the quiet strength that lies beneath the surface of every turbulent wave. Through these pieces, I hope to create a space where viewers can see their own stories—where they can find comfort in nature’s wisdom and inspiration in its endless capacity for renewal. I deem my works are mainly influenced by modern and contemporary artists, such as Zao Wou-Ki, Zhang Daqian, Julie Mehretu, David Hammons, Wu Chi-Tsung and traditional Chinese ink art painters like Fan Kuan, Qi Baishi, and Li Tang.
