Steampunk Love Collage

Meet my artwork "Steampunk Love" and this has been inspired by my teacher Andy Skinner. I have learnt a lot from him. I have applied some of the inspiration here in my work. All of my art has a meaning and even the colours I choose. If you see this art the way I see then you will understand why I chose the colours and the embellishments. Here I have painted a wooden heart with acrylics and used cardboard clock gears and metal clock gears to go on to the heart and a metal Dragonfly. This heart is then stuck on to a cardboard which is painted with acrylics and it is giving a rusty look. If you see from a distance it will look like a wooden sheet. On that cardboard I have used polyfiller to make squares with a stencil and painted with blue acrylic and outlined with a gold marker pen. Then all these are stuck on to a canvas. I have used polyfiller to design the clock gears as borders around the canvas and then painted with orange and gold acrylics to give that rich, royal look and canvas edges are also rubbed with gold metallic wax. Theme here is that sometimes in lives our heart gets hurt and then we try to mend it by surrounding our heart with walls and here wall here is represented by blue squares. Clock gears represent time and the Dragonfly at the bottom of the heart is asking us to free ourselves from the pain and Love again and to trust and to believe in ourselves as time will heal everything. There is Love word stencilled underneath the heart. Gold and orange colours here are asking you to be joyful, successful and creative. Bring the sunshine in your life instead of closing yourself and your heart and to breakdown those walls which we have built around ourself and be free. I do hope you will see and feel what I have mentioned about my artwork here. All of my artwork is created to bring joy & smile and warmth in people's heart and soul.
