ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Abstract tree, collage technique of paint, paper and chalk. The subject is a tree in an abstract way. I used different torn papers, paint and chalk to create a layered impression of branches, light and movement. The title 'take me to the orange tree' for me personally means: please, take me to better times. It symbolizes hope, trust and not giving up. I really like to use the combination of bleus and oranges, standing for shadow and light. Orange is such a bright, warm and joyful colour that ceates instant happiness, I can't live without. The size of the artwork is 30x61x1 cm. The artwork is protected with varnish. The handmade wooden frame is part of the artwork and is 40x71x2 cm

Showing the reality is not important, it's my personal impression and emotion that I wish to communicate. This is a very intuitive process during which my hand glides on paper or canvas. This way I am able to tell my own story in layers, colours and lines. Afterwards the art is not mine anymore and open to other people's eyes, making new stories as well. I'm always searching for new ways for my art (small to large sizes, different techniques) to travel and show themselves to public.
