About The Artwork

This piece is sold, but if you are interested in this work please contact Saatchi Art's curatorial team about commissioning a similar piece from me. From a series titled "The Story of Man." The piece is a collage using multiple layers of different types of paper including damaged books. The title comes from one of the damaged booked used, a 1970s cultural history book from Time Life Books. The collage is covered with muted browns and rusts on beefy 1.5" stretched canvas bars. Can be displayed in any orientation you prefer. Signed and dated on the back. Gallery wrapped, so no need for framing, ready to hang and make a bold conversation piece!

The work I create is about contemplation—pausing for a moment to appreciate the history in our lives. I ask the viewer to step off life’s speedy treadmill and analyze these imaginary timelines I make with vintage paper and paint. Using reclaimed paper, manuals, magazines and textbooks I create layered artwork that demands more than the casual glance. My art is about juggling time, color and balance. I always strive to create art that is bold, physical and has an overall element of fun. The editing process is about layering–adding and covering back up. My current work is rugged and blends areas of control with those of absolute chaos, wielding paint, markers, spray paint and using whatever tools I can find to make a mark.
