About The Artwork

As an Art Psychotherapist one has to engage in quite deep analysis of the self. During my time practicing I have tended to use multiple mediums in order to explore an express myself. This series of 4 collages represent unconsciouses process that symbolise a sense my 'survival'. This image depicts the struggles faced with women as roles models, addiction, boundaries, control and the potential for change and freeing oneself from old patterns of behaviour. When starting a picture there is no planning of subject matter, I get drawn through colour, form and feeling in the moment. I then merge the chosen images into a cohesive form using paint, ink or organic material. The title gives a suggestion of the subject matter. This image depicts the bare bones of historical experience that can leave a trail of pressure and paranoia that can haunt ones outlook towards life. My inspiration derives from many artists (Hannah Hoch) that have used mixed medium, plus the more obvious Dali and abstract artists. I hope viewers will be drawn into the story/ theme- and may well form their own interpretation of it.
