About The Artwork

Made with found images from a wildlife annual a book on astrology and a black and white engineering magazine, this collage seemed to come about accidentally. Elements floated about my workspace until one day they sat together almost as you see here. The title came at the end of the process when I thought that the hovering metal form was observing the fight between the snake and the croc. There is so much we don't know about the sea and the world of animals, but we still pursue space travel and ways to avoid dealing with the consequences of the industrial revolution. The industrial cool look to this work is how I like to contextualise collage. No glass is involved with the frame and everything is re used, except for paper glue so as to minimalise the effect on the environment.
