About The Artwork

Introducing "Black Ice," a mesmerizing digital artwork created by a master of geometric design. With its dominant black hue, accented by deep red and white, this piece commands attention and exudes an air of mystery and strength. Reminiscent of Middle Eastern mandalas and Islamic geometry, the artwork features pentagonal shapes arranged in a perfectly symmetrical square with a kaleidoscopic focal point.

The artist's signature twist is evident in the use of his unique "digital blending" technique, which involves seamlessly folding together up to 20 different geometric patterns, textures, and color templates to create up to 100 blends until the perfect result is achieved. This meticulous process ensures that only the best works make it through, with all others being trashed and started anew.

"Black Ice" draws inspiration from sacred geometry, with intersecting lines and shapes forming circles within circles that symbolize infinity and time. A central circle with a triangle in the top half, delicately balanced by smaller circles, represents the beauty of order emerging from chaos.

This artwork is possibly Avant Garde and could be likened to the work of famous geometric artist M.C. Escher, who also played with the concepts of symmetry and pattern. The name "Black Ice" was inspired by the AC/DC song of the same name, which shares the same sense of boldness and edge.

This artwork is available as prints from Saatchi Art.

Colin Fleming (aka Phantom) As a South African digital geometric abstraction artist, born in Johannesburg in 1974, I create artworks that are inspired by the natural world and its divine elements. By incorporating sacred geometry, natural phi, the golden ratio, Fibonacci, and fractals, I create 2D digital wall art that offers viewers a unique experience of order out of chaos. In addition to my artwork, I have authored and illustrated an adult graphic novel titled "Erotika: The Beginning," which is self-published and available on Amazon, where it was a #1 Best Seller in 2022. As a musician, I have written, recorded, and performed three solo albums under the name G1 Delusions of Grandeur, which are available on Reverbnation. The best of my artworks are available as prints on Saatchi Art, but I also offer them as original prints. Each original print is made by me on a top-quality large-format printer with durable, vibrant inks on canvas, photo paper, or matte paper. I sign each print and courier it to the buyer, certify it as the original, and then I delete the master digital file to ensure that each print is truly unique and an original. With almost 200 artworks available on Saatchi Art, my full collection is over 600 artworks, and I am able to create custom artworks as well. My style has a calming and natural "stimulating" effect on the observers' neural and cognitive function, which makes it ideal for various environments, including waiting rooms, medical suites, receptions, and studies. Moreover, my art has been proven by psychologists to have positive calming effects on ADHD and ADD children and adults. As a graphic designer by trade, I am also a screen print color separation specialist and a 3D artist, including clothing design, 3D characters, and 3D virtual reality. I am currently based in South Africa, where the economic climate is challenging and artists are especially struggling to make a living. Thank you for taking the time to explore my artwork and learn about my passion. By supporting me, you are not only helping me pursue my dream of being a successful artist who can make his own income, but you are also helping to support the creative community in South Africa during these difficult times.
